During - part 1 . . .

Formalities over, the staff and hounds move down the driveway followed by three flights, totaling 48 riders. The first draw was towards Nowicki's Ridge and Kuperus' Quarry where we had chased a grey fox a week earlier. A quick spurt through the woods and down Pratt's hill left some of our members and guests up close and personal with the ground, but no harm done. Then, across the top ridge towards Dobbs and Doan's with a coyote who did not want to play too long. The decision was then to come back along the other side of the ridge in territory not yet drawn. The car followers - four cars of us! - left Dobbs' turnaround to come back around Wolfpit Road to a vantage point by the Ricker's old hay barns where you can see down the valley.
