 State on entry if Open, Amat. or Jr-YR and if GAIG/USDF Qualifying for 2008 Championships in appropriate classes on all days. 

 

1.  LEVELS:  USDF Intro through FEI Grand Prix.  Including freestyles, Jr and YR tests plus Dressage Seat Equitation.  Adult amateur and Junior/Young Rider divisions offered at each level (for each test) if 3 or more entries are received.  If Open, Amateur or Junior divisions do not fill, entries may be combined.

2.  AWARDS:  Trophy and six ribbons per class.  High score trophies for Open; Jr/YR, Amateur, FEI and MFS.  Cajun’s Billy Bert award for highest scoring horse 20 y.o. & older.  Check website for further award/breed award information and updates.

3.  ENTRIES:

$30    Non-competing horse (includes office fee)

a) Juniors $2/class discount.  GAIG/USDF Qualifying add $10 to appropriate fee.  BLM Qualifying no extra charge.  USEF non-members (rider/owner/trainer) - $20 non-member USEF fee plus $5 discipline fee.  Junior non-members exempt from discipline fee.  USEF fee/drug fee $12.  $20 USDF non-member fee for rider and owner if not already registered with the USDF.  $5 affidavit fee if card not provided.  The USEF & USDF require rider/horse/owner to be a current member/recorded and provide # and copy of card; trainer to have a USEF membership; have a non-member card or file affidavit.  NO number deposit.  Make checks payable to Windy Hollow Hunt.  b) No fees refunded after closing date; fees refunded prior to closing date minus $10 handling charge.  c) Entries received after closing date but prior to scheduling show subject to $10 late fee (per entry).  Entries accepted after scheduling prior to show $25 late fee (per entry).  Post entries during show (where time allows for previously entered horses) $10 per additional class.  d) Entries must include current Coggins within one year.  e) Entries for GAIG/USDF Qualifying must include proof of full USEF recording/USDF lifetime registration for horse; rider and owner must be current USEF senior/USDF participating members w/$10 per class qualifying fee.  f) Incomplete entries (w/o Coggins, USEF/USDF #'s, cards, ALL signatures) subject to $10 penalty.

4.  TIMES:  Available on website www.windyhollowhunt.org or on Wednesday, prior to show from organizer or secretary as above.  

5.  STABLING:  Permanent and temporary with solid doors on grounds – stabling may be on dirt or concrete.  $100 - Friday to Sunday, no initial bedding.  Shavings/hay available on grounds – see website.  Tack stalls will be charged at same rate and may be limited due to entry size.  Stables open 12 Noon Friday.  Stall assignments available on website (with flooring) with timesNOTE:  Competitors are responsible for damage done by their animals/vehicles.

6.  ACCOMMODATIONS:  Check www.windyhollowhunt.org or organizer/secretary for listing.  Camper hook-ups $35 previous night and/or day of show.  Non-electric camping $10 overnight.   Showers available on grounds.

7.  DIRECTIONS:
From NORTHWEST I-84 (NY & PA):  use Milford Exit, Rte 6 East to Rte 209 South.  Cross bridge to NJ at Milford.  Rte 206 South 10 miles to Plains Road on left (follow signs). 
From NORTHEAST (NY & CT):  I-84 West to Exit 3W / Middletown (before overpass) / Rte 6.  At light turn left and follow Rte 6 to Slate Hill / Rte 284 (left turn) – then South through towns of Westtown & Unionville to Sussex.  Right at light onto Rte 23, immediate left to light and straight onto Rte 639 (past airport) to Rte 565.  Watch for signs to Fairgrounds (about 5 miles).  Second sign (Linn Smith Road) better for trailers.  Turn left at end – Fairgrounds 1/2 mile on left.
From NYC & EASTERN NJ:  I-80 West to Exit 34B / Route 15 North, Follow 15 until it joins Route 206 just beyond Lafayette, New Jersey.  Go North for one mile (past Skylands Ball Park on right) to Plains Road, turn right at the light, and Fairgrounds will be on the right approx. 1 mile.
From Northern PA:  Take I-84 East or Rte 209 North to Milford, PA.  Cross at the Milford Bridge to Rte 206 South.  Go South past Branchville, New Jersey to Plains Road. Turn left at the light.  Fairgrounds approx. 1 mile on right.

From Western NJ:  Take Rte 206 North through Newton, New Jersey and Ross' Corner (intersection of Route 15) turn left with Rte 206.  Turn right at next light for Plains Road.  Fairgrounds will be on the right approx 1 mile. OR  Alternate route from Newton. Turn left on Rte 519 North right after the square in Newton.  Follow Rte 519 past 3 traffic lights. Where Rte 519 makes a sharp left, go straight onto Augusta Hill Road. Continue straight across Rte 206 (traffic light) onto Plains Road.  Fairgrounds will be on the right approx 1 mile.

8.  FOOTING:  Sand mix – 4 full sized competition arenas with same footing in two warm-up rings.  New additional sand arenas which may be used.  Grass warm-up also.

9.  ENTERTAINMENT:  Food will be available on grounds.

10.  OTHER:  a) Farrier - John Nurge 908-850-0194.  On call.  Will come early morning/night before show if needed.  b) Veterinarian on call – info. posted at secretary’s stand and in program.  c)  Video/photographer - Susan Stickle, Hoof Prints Photography; 973-763-2550 or Hooffoto@aol.com  d) Hard hats must be worn at all times when mounted.  e) Telephone number (day of show only) 973-948-5500.  f) Schooling of horses not competing only with express PRIOR permission and payment of $30 fee (includes office fee) along with proof of negative Coggins.  Must submit entry blank w/signatures.  g) Unexpected schooling horses will be charged $40 and (depending on entries) may be turned away.  h) Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and regulations of the USEF rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.  i) Prize list changes/updates posted on website – www.windyhollowhunt.org .
