Greet Prospective New Members Hunt Clinic |
A pre-season hunt clinic to greet prospective members and to orient new ones. |
|
Hunt Breakfasts |
Traditional aprčs-hunt
feasts featuring numerous culinary delights concocted by hosts. During the formal
season, there is usually a breakfast held at the meet or nearby or an ever-varying array
of tailgate delights! The annual Christmas party/breakfast is one not to miss! |
|
|
The Hunt Ball |
| The season's social highlight,
this is a white tie gala featuring elegant dining and dancing and special auctions to
support the hounds. |
|
|
The Annual Meeting and
Awards Party |
|
At this end of the season meeting, members gather to elect board
members and review the state of the Hunt. Laughter and stories abound amid great
food, ample drink and gracious company. The event concludes with the presentation of
special Hunt awards including the coveted "Slippery Saddle Award" for the best
fall during the season! |

Riding Events |
|
Each year Windy Hollow Hunt
organizes several dressage shows at the
Sussex County Fairgrounds as well
as a number of cross country hunter pace events over our hunting territory. The
annual high point pace trophy is hotly contested! |
|
|
Landowners Party |
|
Although welcome at all events, once a year the Hunt throws a
special picnic, specifically for the generous people who allow us to enjoy our sport by
riding across their land. This is a wonderful opportunity to renew mutual respect
and friendship. |

Summer Activities |
|
Many opportunities for fun are
held formally and informally during the summer by our members: trail rides, etc. The
Hunt is informally allied with the
Jockey Hollow Pony Club and
some things revolve around their schedule as well. Although hounds are
"roaded" on foot or "walked out" all year round, the spring and summer
are especially busy as hounds are leash-broke and introduced to a working pack
setting. Help is always appreciated! |
