What is a pace?

WHH has several divisions with ribbons from 1st to 6th   All ribbon winners will be given/sent certificates for capping with WHH during hunting season.  These divisions are basically based on speed.  An anonymous team will ride the pace either the morning of, or during, the pace to determine the optimum "ideal" time for the open division.  Teams may be groups of 2 or 3.

Open - at the pace that a true hunt would be on the day, including times of walking, trotting and cantering/galloping as appropriate for terrain and weather.   Not a full-out race, but a moving-on pace.
Novice - a slower pace than the open but still moving on.
Hilltopping - a Sunday trail ride, look at the leaves pace.

All divisions have optional jumping (though the pace time for open is charted over the jumps which tends to be the quickest way).  Dress is casual (though boots, breeches and jackets are always appropriate!) BUT you must wear a helmet and shoes with heels (no sneakers!).  Please bring a tailgate to share at our hunt tent!

Pace fees:
Adult $40, Junior $25 (under 18) - Adjacent pace has different pricing structure - please see flyer for details.  NO pre-registration for our paces.  Pairs/threesomes may go out from 10 to 1 PM.  Competitors not ready by 1 PM may/may not be allowed to ride and may/may not be counted for ribbons!!!
